Mission

Deep spirituality.
Bold discipleship.
Daring justice.

Vision

Called by God, as disciples of Jesus, The United Church of Canada seeks to be a bold, connected, evolving church of diverse, courageous, hope-filled communities united in deep spirituality, inspiring worship, and daring justice.

Welcome to The United Church of Canada, a church with a continuing history of welcoming all in the name of Christ.

The United Church of Canada was founded in 1925 with the understanding that a ‘Basis of Union’ could be agreed upon- the central beliefs and core tenants of the Christian church were kept in essential agreement.

Our roots are deep in Christian history, and we represent a union of the Methodist, Presbyterian, Congregational, and the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Canada.

The United Church of Canada is one of the first ecumenical unions in the world to bring together major Christian denominations into one body.

The United Church of Canada has a long history of welcoming people of all backgrounds and orientations – wherever you are in your faith journey, there’s a place for you here.

Jesus said to his friends and followers, "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]! We’re taking him at his word.

Deep Spirituality, Bold Discipleship, Inspiring Worship, Daring Justice.
